Ben-Her Entertainment is the combining of (Erick)
Benson and (Anthony) Herron. These two writers/producers joined creative forces in 1982. Their first combined project was a variety show featuring Grammy Award winning singer, Anita Baker.
Currently in pre-production is the television sitcom,
First Cousins, starring Sherman Hemsley and a recent acquisition. Since the newly acquired project is in a very delicate negotiations stage which includes other legal strictures, the title is not yet being announced. Pre-production features include: The Date From Hades, Play It Again, Mixed Doubles and Treat Her Like A Lady.Also on the pre-production slate is What Goes Around. . . and Rose-Colored Glasses.
Also written, directed and produced through BHE were very successful stage plays, Sistah Story, which premiered in Los Angeles at the Wilshire Ebell Theater, and subsequently toured throughout Southern and Northern California, and The Lost Season, The Risen Verdict and Bethlehem on Broadway.Five books have been authored through BHE: The Weight-Pile Murder, Framed Justice, Black White Boy, Joe Blow and Scriptwriting and Structure.
Urban Dreams Film Works and Anther Productions were founded under the Ben-Her Entertainment Group umbrella. Urban Dreams Film Works was developed as a secondary film company to produce films of various genres with the emphasis concentrated on ethnic issues and values. The UDFW program allows minority filmmakers and writers an avenue for possible production and development of their own projects. Anther Productions is an independent film production company.
